Why do we think what we think and is it actually in our best interest?

Sometimes we are so ingrained in society that it is hard for us to change. We follow the culture and often without question. We grow up with sets of expectations that existed before us.

Who were the expectations created for? Who was the culture created for? Maybe the beneficiary of the culture isn't you who follow it but instead the one who created it. What's interesting is that culture is self-reinforcing. We adhere to it. We encourage it. We often accept it without skepticism.

Yet the ones who cause disruptive change in the world are often those who can navigate the tides of culture while seeking to change it.
