What Having a Voice Means

If you are healthy, then you are privileged with a voice. Maybe not the opinion swaying, crowd moving kind of voice. But a voice. Just one.

If you are healthy, then you are privileged with a voice. Maybe not the opinion swaying, crowd moving kind of voice. But a voice. Just one.

It's your decision whether to use the voice or not, and also your decision to learn to use it.

Sometimes it is better to withold the voice, other times it is better to speak up. You make the judgment call.

Regardless, how we use our voice determines our identity in the world because our identity is defined by our interactions with the world.

I am not pontificating on the importance of having a voice and telling you to speak up. I am just making an observation that your voice, or silence, makes a difference.

And as an educator, I better teach my students how to use their voice, and how to discern the voices of others.
